Foninkas refused to come out! Senegalese citizens were imported from villages in Senegal to boost Adama Barrow’s Foni Sintet rally this last Tuesday. Most came from the following villages:Kasikong, Jinali, Sarre Demba, Sankandi Fula Kunda, Kanjung, Jawlarr, Bunkiling, and Toborr.

The President’s party sent vehicles to collect people. Fana Fanas from Nyorro Jarol and little children filled the NPP-hired Gele geles.Busai, Kabum, Bako, Tamba Kunda, and other villages all refused to come out for Barrow. From Kalagi to Buman, Arakon, Jorreng, Mangana, kampasa all together couldn’t fill two Gele Geles for all the people Barrow collected in Foni Jarrol.

The president spent D36,000 (thirty-six thousand Dalasis) to feed foreigners called from Senegal to boost the President’s Sintet visit. Even the cows slaughtered were a gift since the president’s party knew the turn-out wasn’t going to be good. Not even all chairs were used by the low turn-out.

They had to return some chairs back. School kids were used to fill the disappointing space. The president told a school principal to tell the used little children to take off their school uniforms so that the media won’t cover that his rally was dominated by little kids.

The principal refused and told the president some of those kids came from far away. Even the so-called “Yaayi-Compins” were not Foninkas that Barrow claimed to be visiting. In fact, the president had no choice, but to speak in Fula.

His translators all translated into languages not Jola, the indigenous language of the area spoken by almost all inhabitants including the jahankas, Fulas, and Mandinkas. The president’s behavior was tantamount to a Gambian visiting the U.S Congress and chooses to address the audience in Arabic.

Barrow had no choice but to acknowledge that he was talking to Cassamance people and other Senegalese, besides little children. Further, videos surfaced online showing Senegalese people being interviewed by NPP TV at the rally. At least two speakers told an NPP mouthpiece that they came from Senegal to boost Adama Barrow’s rally “because Adama Barrow and Macky Sall are the same.”

Papa, you hit the nail on the head, relatives in Sintet told me the same thing, please continue what you are doing, job well done if it’s possible why can’t you invite prof. Lamin Conteh or Sam Sarr, Lamin Tamba or Fadiga for programmes concerning current affairs in The Gambia until the last day before the election, or try to let them have their own programmes if you’re not available we have to intensify the scrutiny against Barrow
