We woke this morning to this news, but decided to sit on it till further notices due to its ultra-sensitive nature. Our reporters filed early morning America’s Central Time, December 18th 2019, that Senegalese forces engaged Gambian counterparts in Darsilameh, Gambia’s western region in some altercation.
Sources said almost fires were shot. The tussle started around 08:00am Gambia time. Gambia’s army commander Cham and a  Senegalese counterpart later visited the scene to assuage the tension upon the invitation of Darsilameh villagers.
We contacted Gambia Army PRO Major Lamin Sanyang early morning today who said he was not yet informed of the incident. Sanyang is currently on leave. We later called Malick Sanyang, his deputy but received no response.
Sources added that this was not the first time similar disputes arose between the two forces. Earlier, we reported the ill- treatment of the people of Foni by an occupying Senegalese forces sometimes stealing and slaughtering goats and cattle of the farmers of Foni, and later punishing the farmers for asking simple questions.
