President Barrow’s NPP convoy has just had an accident at the infamous Senegalese checkpoint in Foni Bwiam, sources told forGambia Monday evening. It is an area of recurrent accidents we have been lamenting.

Our editorials and news reports have been seen numerous times by our readership, complaining about this very Senegalese checkpoint that has been causing regular accidents.

Well, this time, the victims aren’t the usual Foninkas, but the very perpetrator or co-conspirator in the whole checkpoint scheme of oppressing the people of Foni and their free movement of goods and services.

It was at one of these checkpoints they shot a Foni van driver sometime ago. We are tired of reporting all the accidents still occurring at this location. Please read our archives to see for yourselves.

Reports say the NPP convoy was heading to Niamina West, a hot election area and an experimental variable for Adama Barrow’s new party. But Gambians have been starving under Barrow as he chooses to ignore seminal national issues and crises.

But the same Barrow will hearken to Macky Sall and Senegal’s bidding each time they call as if Gambians don’t matter. This last accident at this checkpoint is a developing story. We will keep you posted as the need arises.

As we type these, a minor Gambian is still held captive in Senegal for alleged illegal fishing when our waters, streets, or even State House is in the hands of Senegal. Also, floods are still ravaging communities in the Gambia, with Adama Barrow showing not an atom’s weight’s of interest in such issues as poor Gambian families lose bags of rice, sugar, and other food stocks to heavy rains.

Our roads are also in deplorable conditions. But the money that should have repaired them is diverted to purchasing fleets of vehicles for a donkey to remain in power. Carry on, Mr. Donkey. It was just few weeks ago when bees chased away another campaign effort of this president. You keep making our mothers, sisters, and poor people cry and see if you’ll have peace!
