Why Not Report the Anna Jarjue Case to National Assembly Members, Customs Head Office in Banjul?

If what is being alleged about Anna Jarjue, a customs officer at the Banjul International Airport is true, why not lodge formal complaints to the country’s legislators and custom’s head office in Banjul? Why are Gambians so bad at problem solving? If this matter is reported to the right authorities, it will achieve the following:

  1. First, it will find out if Gambia Customs and Excise is aware of people’s frustrations with Anna Jarjue.
  2. It will help the public know if fees allegedly demanded by Anna Jarjue are set by the gov’t or Anna herself (unilaterally).
  3. Why are no receipts being given to people after fees paid as alleged by victims? This is serious! Why? Because Anna could potentially be at liberty to charge any amount of money without any trail or trace.
  4. If anybody pays her money, demand a receipt and call the police if she refuses to give any. Video record everything, for God’s sake!
  5. Who should decide how much each passenger pays, customs or Anna Jarjue; if customs, why no receipts?
  6. More and more people coming out with the same complaint shows a common denominator—and it’s reportedly Anna Jarjue! The energy you all take to write out your frustrations can be utilized to the National Assembly members and customs department. Just complaining won’t solve anything—and we Gambians are expert complainers, but extremely poor at offering solutions! Let’s be problem solvers for a second, please!
