Why Abuja And Not a Referendum if Barrow Trusts Majority of Gambians Want Him?

Goodluck Jonathan(Left) Briefs President Buhari on Gambia's political issues

The pathological liars in The Gambia, NPP keep lying to Gambians that they have majority of Gambians behind them. But they never dare prove it, or even allow Gambians to decide our constitution for ourselves in a referendum. Even Yahya Jammeh had the guts to organize a referendum for his first constitution ever before his first election. If the NPP  corrupt government of liars, thieves, and traitors can’t even trust themselves to organize the much-awaited area council election in Brikama, you thjink they would risk a referendum? The reason the Brikama Sheriffo Sonko election was never held is the same reason Gambians are denied the right to decide a constitution for themselves in a referendum.

Barrow, Hamat Bah, Dou Sanno, Seedy Njie, Alkali Conteh, Isatou Touray, Henry Gomez, etc., all know this one main thing as they know their own sons and daughters: the vast majority of Gambians would massively vote against them! They can’t pay everyone in The Gambia money to buy them. That could only work in a small constituency like Niamina West!

But Why Abuja, in the First Place?

Because Barrow knows Gambians will massively vote him out in a free and fair election, he could only rig an election, or never allow it to be free and fair. This whole term-limit argument wouldn’t have been any issue in the first place and here is our reason:

For someone who fully knows he can’t win a local government election in Brikama let alone a country-wide referendum, the argument about term-limit is too far-fetched. Why? Because his worry should be how to first win his first election, not the one so far away! Do we need to repeat that?

Here’s a simple explanation: Why should someone who can’t successfully pick few mango fruits at the bottom of the tree argue with others about more mangoes at the far top branches of the tree? Barrow and the NPP can’t even win and pick the few mangoes at the bottom of the mango tree.

The bottom fruits here signify the Brikama-Sheriffo Sonko election, the draft constitution’s referendum he’s denied citizens, and a simple thing as winning a simple majority of Gambians to his side. You can’t even get the bottom fruits of a mango tree, yet you’re fighting with others about the top fruits?

We only write and publish for thinking Gambians—not buffoons. And here is the reason why Barrow is fighting so viciously against constitutional retroactivity: Before thinking of rigging an election, let a constitution firstly allow me to run. Of course, plans and activities have been on to register more and more foreigners.

He can only rig elections or register as many foreigners as possible if he is allowed to run. This is the main reason Barrow is fighting over term-limit clauses. His main contemplation is election fraud! Please, Gambians, take not of this! But he can only rig an election he is allowed to run in.

Fighting against election rigging, voter fraud, holding a referendum for the draft constitution, and fighting tooth-and-nail to make sure NPP doesn’t register foreign nationals is far more important than any trip to Abuja for talks about a book we spent D116 million on, only for Barrow to pay people to vote against.
