Reports reaching forGambia News reveal a possible gruesome murder of Sheriff Colley, 60 of Kil-ling village in the West Coast Region. Colley came from the family that founded Kil-ling. He was uncle to the current Alkalo of the village, Zakaria Colley.
Family told forGambia that the deceased left home for his groundnut farm in the village on September 16th 2025. He was later found aphasic at his farm. He was in a difficult condition and couldn’t speak.
Regrettably, he died shortly. The family had no clue since he couldn’t say a word after his possible attack in the bush. It was only after a post-mortem result that family knew of his internal injuries of frontal lobe fractures, cerebral and other tissue assaults in what was later medically confirmed as serious traumatic injuries.
We have attached Kanifing Hospital’s post-mortem report signed by Dr. Asiel Perez-Jiminez. Mysterious killings with body discoveries, sometimes hanging from trees without injuries have become very common in The Gambia. This one is different.
But the Barrow gov’t is more interested in self-serving pursuits and longevity than citizens’ safety, peace and security. A month, sometimes a week seldom passes by without the Gambian public hearing or seeing similar killings, sometimes security personnel directly involved as in the case of Omar Badjie of Lamin earlier this week.
Meanwhile, former president Jammeh spoke of the Barrow government’s plan to sacrifice a “Colley-Kunda” soul, preferably a female with Colley last name or a male if a female isn’t possible. Jammeh made these proclamations in a recent audio he released. This editor is a Colley blood and did listen to the audio and laughed it off.
Now there is a mysterious death of a Colley blood around areas where vultures were systematically killed few months ago by people the public believed were agents of sacrifice and devil- worshipping.
Worse, two vulture killers or sacrificers were caught in Foni, the same region Sheriff Colley came from. They were handed to the authorities. One was a Gambia Arm Forces member. The gov’t said they would give his case to be handled by a military court as if his crime against our wildlife and environment was done in a military barrack.
Why not let the courts handle his case? Because further interogation and cross-examination would reveal who are really behind these killings of our vultures in an apparent African black magic! And perhaps a link would have been cracked about the mysterious human killings as well!
