Over 200 Women Die in Labor While First Lady, VP Waste Millions in New York NPP Fund Raising!

Gambia’s First Lady Fatou Bah-Barrow and her delegation, Vice President Dr. Isatou Touray, also with her delegation are leaving Gambia September 18th 2021 for a United Nations meeting.  Last year, over two hundred Gambian women died in labor or labor-related complications in our poorly equipped hospitals where even gloves are rationed. We don’t know how many have died, so far this year. But misappropriation of funds has been an inveterate habit of the Barrow administration. The spendthrift delegations will be in the States for fourteen days while Gambians continue to perish in poor hospitals without the most basic supplies. More and more Gambians are being murdered, usually through knife stabs in their homes, public places, farmlands, and elsewhere when police don’t have, again, the most basic of supplies to fight petti crime.

The President, again, is shying away from the U.N meeting as has been his habit. The reason is that intelligence, shortly before our 2019 publication, warned him that Gambians in the diaspora are extremely angry with him. There will be serious protests if Barrow sets his foot in the United States. Check our September 2019 archives for the same report.

The ticket costs, hotel, and other expenses for these big Gambian delegations from both the president’s wife and the vice president are almost one million U.S Dollars. Remember recently when Barrow said his ticket to China cost $700,000 (seven hundred thousand Dollars), which actually came from a bribe from the Chinese company he gave one of our contracts to?

The first Lady isn’t a Gambian official in any official capacity. What is she doing with our U.N delegation? Who is paying her tickets, hotels, and per diem money? And as always, she is arriving with a delegation. Everyday in The Gambia, a woman either bleeds to death from labor complications, or from power outage. But look at what these buffoons are spending our money on!

Because it is a campaign time, the First Lady and our vice president together with their delegations are fund-raising for NPP while Gambians are dying in extremely poor hospitals without the most basic supplies to sustain life. The nurses were striking too. More and more Gambians are being murdered when police don’t have the most basic needs to do their job.

Barrow will not come to the United States, of course! And he knows it like he knows his fingers. Let him keep sending the VP with bloated delegations to waste our tax payer money. This time, they are using our same money to raise funds for the failing NPP. They are using the U.N trip to do fund raising for the NPP.

Worse, the Barrow administration denied Gambian women a permit to organize a protest march to decry the labor deaths and labor-related deaths the country has been struggling with. Instead of helping our hospitals, the president is on a 17-day nation-wide rally where a lying contest is currently in high gears.

Speakers at the said rallies, in broad day light lie to Gambians that Barrow has built hospitals, colleges, roads, etc. We are again asking the lying NPP to show us hospitals and colleges built by Barrow. It was in the URR that a shameless NPP campaigner mentioned this bold lie to poor Gambians needing basic service delivery from a wicked, yet lying President and his co-religionists!
