The third murder of Gambians in the country’s Central River Region in just six months has alarmed the National Assembly member of the area, Hon. Omar Ceesay of the GDC. Ceesay is addressing the latest one taking place in Niamina Kudang just last night where unknown assailants killed one Bambo Darboe. We don’t have details of the late Darboe.
Below, we reproduced GDC’s NAM, Hon. Omar Ceesay’s statements furnished by the party’s National Youth President, MC Cham Jr., following the gruesome murder of Mr. Bambo Darboe last night in Kudang, 211 km away from capital city Banjul.
“The deliberate murdering in Niamina Kudang is worth investigating. Another person murdered in Niamina Kudang last night by an unknown person making it the third person in less than six months.
This is worrying not only to the people of Kudang but Niamina at large as the one doing this deliberate murdering is yet to be known and for what reason.
I am calling on the government especially the office of the IG to establish a body to carry out an investigation leading to the killing of these individuals. I am right in Kudang…..”

Editor’s Note: We did clarify with our sources that the late Bambo Darboe was a Guinean national who had lived in The Gambia for thirty years.
