BARRA NAM, WARD COUNCILOR, LADY COUNCILOR SPEAK TO FORGAMBIA

As we update the latest developments of Wednesday’s catastrophic boat disaster claiming 52 to 58 Gambian lives off the coast of Mauritania, the National Assembly Member for Barra, Hon. Matarr Jeng, the area’s Ward Councilor Kebba Jallow, as well as the Lady Councilor Michelle Mendy all expressed shock in series of interviews with forGambia News & Radio Friday, December 6th 2019.
Hon. Jeng was speaking from Nigeria last night where he is currently attending an ECOWAS parliamentary summit. A full interview of the legislator will be aired on forGambia later as efforts proceed for the West African body to excuse the shocked Gambian rep to jet back to Gambia soonest.
Meanwhile, Kebba Jallow, the area’s Ward Councilor and Michelle Mendy, the Lady Councilor with 66 villages in the North Bank under her wing both expressed utmost shock and dismay speaking to forGambia from Dakar and Barra. “I myself have a family member among the victims, Michelle Mendy told forGambia hours ago. We will host both Mendy and Jallow later today on our forGambia Friday show.
We are working hard to identify victims as we update devleopments. We have gathered some names and family contacts. The shock and bereavement is such that we can’t ask families to speak yet.
