More fires continue to ravage Gambia’s business spaces with victims losing investment and cash values, this time in Africell’s Jewswang store. Our reporters say the Jewshwang fire ravaging Africell’s store started around 2pm local hours, Saturday. Fire services in the area couldn’t handle the flames and billowing smokes as shown in these pictures shot by our agents.

Reports continued that they had to call the fire services of the Banjul International Airport for a more effective intervention, a norm that is inveterate with the impoverished country’s spree of fires in a matter of months.

Meanwhile, our reporters say the Jangjangburreh local prisons was also ablaze. Its flames went on Friday, May 15th 2020. We were on air interviewing Dr. Ismaila Ceesay about dire issues besotting our Gambia while our reporters were filing reports and pictures.

Some of the questions to Dr. Ceesay were pertaining to the avalanche of fires Gambia has been seeing these days with usually very poor intervention from the authorities. Before we finished working on that interview, with special reference to the Brikama one few days ago, we received another information about another fire in Brikama.

We will investigate that “second Brikama fire” in a moment while we bring to you fresh reports on the Africell Jeshwang store and Janjangburreh Prisons fires respectively. We reminded Gambians how the Barrow administration purchased “water cannon trucks” not to quell fires, but spray ” hot water” on protesters asking Barrow to honor his promise!
