BANJUL, JULY 27: Banjul City Council is set to take new measures in order to control and manage waste within the Capital city.
According to Rohey Malick Lowe, the first Mayoress in The Gambia, Urban Waste Management initiative is top on her agenda to mitigate the waste situation in Banjul. “In that regard, I was privileged to meet officials in Georgia, USA,” she said
“During our marathon discussion I was able to tell them the waste management situation of Banjul, the mechanisms my team and I put in place to make the City waste- free and the challenges we are facing as a City in terms of waste,” she said in her UDP Facebook page on Friday.
She further revealed that they also have a fruitful negotiation with their partners in US and are hopeful to get Waste Vehicles from them to improve the waste management system in Banjul.
