IS HE BILOGICAL BROTHER TO GAMBIA REVENUE AUTHORITY BOSS YANKUBA DARBOE? WHY DID THEY REPORTEDLY REFUSE TO SELL THE PLANES TO OTHERS OFFERING HIGHER PRICES THAN TURO?

Where exactly does Momodou Turo Darboe get his money from to afford five planes? Can anybody name his companies and what exactly they make or run?

The average physician in the United States makes $272,959.00 (Two-hundred and seventy-two thousand, nine-hundred and fifty-nine Dollars) a year according to ZipRecruiter, a job market platform and conduit between employers and job-seekers. The average salary in the United States is $66,622 (sixty-six thousand, six hundred and twenty-two Dollars) a year. The United States has more employment and wealth creation opportunities than The Gambia. Besides, the Dalasi has been suffering a diabolical depreciation due to rotten corruption, excessive borrowing, and extremely poor economic and fiscal policies of the Barrow administration. So, we humbly ask the following questions, not out of spite or any ill-will towards Mr. Turo Darboe, but genuine concern for ourselves and our fellow citizens, especially in the wake of convulsive reports of corruption quite febrile with our struggling nation.

  1. What company/business does Mr. Turo Darboe operate in The Gambia or outside The Gambia to be able to cough up $740,000?
  2. Where exactly are his companies and what exactly do they manufacture or operate? Are they a service company/companies or manufacturing entities and what exactly do they manufacture?
  3. How many companies, especially in the private sector in The Gambia make $740,000 a year profit in this disastrous economy?
  4. Why did they allegedly refuse to sell the five aircraft to other interested parties with higher offers than Turo Darboe?
  5. Didn’t Turo see any conflict of interest in purchasing a government-confiscated item(s) when his alleged biological brother is the chief revenue collector for that same government that reported precluded higher offers?
  6. Turo said he didn’t know the planes belonged to Jammeh. If one is caught with a bag of weed, does the origin or farmer of the weed matter?
  7. Can Turo tell us poor citizens how did he learn of the sale of those planes that were never advertised? Who informed him?

We don’t mind people calling Turo a philanthropist. In fact we greatly admire his charities to the poor and needy. But these questions are imperative when we have in our midst a congenitally corrupt government his alleged biological brother is prominently serving, to the extent that he had to respond to a social post after one of his government’s nemesis reported a damaging matter.

Why did GRA boss Yankuba Darboe, a civil servant get involved in a purely political matter when nobody mentioned him in the GALA protests? What really irked him that much? Yankuba, civil servants aren’t supposed to show their face in politics. You know that! Also, you’re not the Gambia Government spokesperson. We’ve wasted too much money and allowances already on redundant hires like Ebrima G. Sankareh, Amie Sissoho, and Information Minister. Those people couldn’t tell the public what transpired between the president and a key protesting figure? Couldn’t you simply give your response to the gov’t spokesperson and stay out of the loop?
