Husband of Binta Jarju, Army officer Bakary Jarju alleges that his wife returned from Abu Dhabi in an official trip with colleagues. She was quarantined in Manduar, later Bambo Hotel in The Gambia. She was found symptom-free and released.
Binta’s phone rang and one Mr. Corr was on the line, telling Binta to stop where ever she was if she “loves her family.” Binta was taken to “Wencho” for another Quarantine interval, according to husband Bakary Jarju. Binta works for the Gambia Immigration Department.
She was among three officers that returned from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Not long ago, a whatsapp audio made rounds about another woman who was allegedly forced to say she was Covid-positive but refused.
Binta’s husband, Bakary Jarju told forGambia in an exclusive interview that the said woman was part of his wife’s Abu Dhabi group. But after his wife’s 14-day quarantine ended symptom-free, the Gambia authorities released her to her family with whom she spent almost one week.
Binta was taken away again. Mr. Jarjue questions the rationale behind discharging her home after the first quarantine ended without any symptoms. He laments how his entire family might have been exposed to the globally-dreaded killer if the need for his wife to be snatched again was really legitimate.
Binta spent sometime at Wencho. Still asymptomatic, her Covid results came negative. But both her husband, army officer Jarju and their 3 year old girl were also taken away and quarantined. We publish the negative results above.
Jarju details the family’s ordeal with The Gambian authorities, including the caller Mr. Corr and Mr. Bahoum, with Corr being a fellow army officer Jarju stated he knew personally. We broadcast the full interview of Mr. Jarjue with forgambia radio. Tune in to listen.
