In these difficult times of Covid-19, we at www.forgambia.com, a little news site and radio for Gambian affairs based in the United States wish to inform students of Gambia College, GTTI, MDI, University of The Gambia, high schools and middle schools of The Gambia about an essay writing competition.
Winner in category one, which includes Gambia College, GTTI, MDI, & UTG will receive a cash prize of D5,000.00 whereas category two winner from middle and high schools will get a cash prize of D3,000.00.
Topics for the essays, required minimum words, and writing centers will be sent to interested students who register with either emails or whatsapp numbers sent to the American number (001) 417-619-6943 or email gambiano821@gmail.com. All writings will be on-the-spot, timed and supervised.
Winners will have their photos published on www.forgambia.com and will be given a congratulatory interview on forGambia radio. Each participant would write only one essay.
A minimum of 300 words is required for Category 2 students which is Middle & High Schools for D3,000.00 (Three Thousand Dalasis). A minimum of 600 words is required for category 1 students which is post high schoolers for D5000.00 (Five Thousand Dalasis).

Just like a WAEC exam, we keep the two topics secret for the two essays, one for each category until the writing date. This is so that no one will have pre-planning or help with spontaneity.
