The desperate Adama Barrow gov’t has just removed the Alkalo of Foni Bantangjang Mr. Lamba Tamba from his position ahead of Saturday’s by-election in the area.

According to tips received by forGambia News Wednesday, the Alkalo was summoned to Governor Ousman Bojang’s office in Brikama for questioning.

He cooperated and during the interrogation, he was told he was sacked from his position immediately, reason being he hosted the opposition No-to-Alliance in the current run-up to the by-election.

Forgambia was told the Alkalo was also quizzed whether he would dare welcome an opposition party during Jammeh’s era. He didn’t only reply in the affirmative but gave an example.

During Jammeh’s reign, there was one Marcus Nyassi who was an opposition contestant and during his campaign, Tamba welcomed him without issues.

When political parties visit villages, they traditionally start at the owners of the village which is naturally the village head (Alkalo). They don’t just jump to set up PA systems and disturb villagers with noise.

In Tamba’s own words at the Governor’s office, “I’ve been welcoming different opposition parties as Alkalo since I became Alkalo.” Tamba had welcomed Barrow’s NPP before.

He has been Alkalo of Bantangjang since Jawara’s PPP era. But he was reportedly told at the Governor’s office that “Alkalo shouldn’t support anyone except NPP.”

Forgambia was also informed that Amul Nyassi, a passionate self-sworn enemy to opposition No-to-Alliance who lost an election to the same movement and consequently joined Barrow was an instigator at the Governor’s office today.

Nyassi was allegedly stirring the pot during Tamba’s interrogation in Brikama. Things at some point got heated between him and Tamba. Forgambia has volumes on Nyassi and his group and don’t have the time and space to write all.

From Editor: Just ask Amul Nyassi why and how he lost his seat. Amul, Wollaahi, this battle will rage on, insha Allaah. Allaah gave you a position as MP. You placed your hand on the Qur’aan and asked Allaah to be your witness that you’ll perform your responsibility as required.

When Macky Sall and Adama Barrow were killing Foninkas, committing numerous atrocities in the region, you used to be on the phone with us and promised to fight for the powerless—the very people who put you in office and the same people being slaughtered, their kids afraid to go to school due to drone strikes, their cattle stolen by Macky Sall’s forces with the help of Barrow.

Instead of doing your job, you selfishly joined Barrow and we at forGambia invoked Allaah during our last conversation with you. We brought a young MP and booted you out with the help of Allaah. You’ve been bitter since then and started a crusade against No-To-Alliance. Wollaahi, no one wins against truth. Let’s see how far you can keep kicking this can down the road.

People built their village before you were born, Amul. You want those people to vote for Barrow who has been oppressing them, killing their innocent family members? You know very well that you’re following Barrow for your own pocket, not the prosperity of the people of Foni or Gambia. We had serious conversations when you were MP, Amul! Wollaahi, the curse of every murdered Foni citizen, every oppressed farmer, every child afraid to go to school during those shellings and drone strikes and consequnetly got poor performance, every crying family member’s curse is on you, Amul! It is said Allaah directly listens to the prayers of the oppressed and answers! Again, let’s see how far enough you can keep kicking this can down the road!
