Close sources to Gambia’s State House, on Wednesday revealed to this medium that President Barrow’s Chief of Staff has been fired from his job. Mr. Mod K. Ceesay was just recently ranting and making false statements against an online medium as an opposition propaganda tapestry during an interview with another online platform. We are yet to watch the said interview.

As we went to publication, no reason was given for Ceesay’s abrupt removal. And as has always been the norm, this cruelly reticent Barrow outfit isn’t the one to come out clean on any information of national value, let alone truthfully speak to the independent press in a less-ado-about much.

Regardless, we challenge any government mouthpiece to dismiss our report. We don’t have to publish everything that falls our wake. And due to time constraints, we seldom publish as routinely desired. One Alieu Njie who was, until recently, the secretary to the ever-rattled cabinet cage was handpicked by Barrow and his co-religionists to replace Mr. Ceesay as Chief of Staff. Meanwhile, IlO Jallow, another fabric was also handpicked to replace Alieu Njie as Secretary to the Cabinet.

Our sources furthered that, Ousman Sowe former NIA director was previously fired from his job, triggering Demba Sabally, Seedy Njie, and First Lady Fatou-Bah Barrow to beg the president to forgive him and appoint him as a so-called minister of Lands. There are, according to sources, massive corruption and gross intelligence glitches under the leadership of Ousman Sowe.

More sacking of ministers and redeployment of senior government officials is on the contours unless and until Barrow and his chihuahuas change plans amid intelligence failures and endemic nepotism under a leadership that has sunken Gambia to this morass. 

In a span of just six years, the smallest country on mainland Africa, a ranking densely populated and one of the poorest has witnessed at least five different vice presidents in the persons of Fatoumata Tambajang Jallow, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, Isatou Touray, late Badara Joof, and now Muhammad B.S Jallow. This means on average, a vice president per year if Isatou Njie Saidy is added to the stat. And we expect such a country with such leadership to prosper even in the faintest sense of the word?

Mr. Ebrima Ceesay

In another development, Mr. Ebrima Ceesay who, as has been gathered, conspired with Barrow on numerous occasions to loot and steal from taxpayer money has resumed work at the Gambian embassy in Russia. Ebrima, we warned you that they’d use and dump you but you never paid heed to our little advice.

It was Ebrima Ceesay whose audio was leaked, expressing frustration and anger that had Ousainou Darboe won in 2021, the Barrow camp would all have been in jail by now. It was the same Ceesay who was said to have bought and built lavish structures in The Gambia, defying all limits of his legitimate earnings.
