BAKAU MARKET FIRE!

Bakau market in flames after Wednesday's fire gutted its areas!

Another market fire caught Gambia, this time the market of Bakau involved. Reports say the fire erupted yesterday, May 27th 2020. Bakau is few minutes away from capital city Banjul. Witnesses say the  timber selling area of the market became the victim of the impoverished West African nation’s series of market fires of late.
It was the Brikama market that was ablaze barely three weeks ago with local vendors and salesmen losing livelihoods in a matter of seconds. Prior, the Serrekunda market went up in flames as well just months after a Kanifing gas storage went ditto, with numerous vehicles going in ashes around the vicinity.
Shortly after, a fire starting from Alahkunda in Foni gutted land and other property belonging to former president Yahya Jammeh in Kanilai. Even animals were caught in that conflagration. We don’t want to waste our time on informing and educating Gambians about a simple common denominator.
But we lament policy apathy and the repetitious, “Investigations are on blah blah blah…” while our government spent a fortune purchasing water cannon trucks, not for fires, but people! We at forgambia never stop to think! It’s up to fellow country men to stop doing so.
