News just emerged that a boat carrying about 200 migrants heading to Italy had a serious accident at Mauritania with a death rate of 30 Gambians including youths, girls, women and children en route to Italy for Greener pasture. The boat originated from Barra, North Bank of the Gambia river.
The youth started their journey from the Gambia at a place in Barra using a boat through the Mediterranean sea. According to reports, Over 200 Gambian youths en route to Italy had their boat capsized off the Mauritanian coast.
A majority of the victims, according to local reports are from Barra in the North Bank Region of The Gambia. Two families in Sukuta, Western Region also mourn their dead in the disaster.
 Sources say the Barra Police Station was involved in this trafficking of boys along with a Gambian businessman. This is not independently confirmed yet.
Our reporters say the Mauritanian hospital is barring people from seeing the recovered bodies as we publish these developments. This is still a developing story we will continue to monitor. We apologize in advance for the graphic images.
