ARMED ROBBERS HIT
KERR PATEH; 3 SHOPS
ROBBED! GAMBIA'S
PARAMILITARY HELD
CAPTIVE BY ROBBERS!

Striking reports say armed robbers, once again descended on the village of Kerr Pateh in Gambia’s Central River Region Monday night, leaving three shops vandalized, burgled, and destroyed. A safe, commonly called “Arrang case” in The Gambia is photographed in this report as helpless villagers stare in shock.

Our reporters say the victimized Gambian village of Kerr Pateh had at least four Gambian paramilitary personnel doing regular patrols. The robbers lured two of them into distraction only to tie them. That gave their colleagues (robbers) enough time to work on at least three shops where the safe above was gleaned empty.

Reports added that one paramilitary officer was injured by the robbers, but is now believed to have sustained minor injuries. Kerr Pateh was attacked by armed robbers in 2008. Its location, like many others has not been quite immune to cross-border armed banditry.

At least a suspect of Monday’s attack has been arrested after other robbers fled according to our reporters. The arrested suspect has been transferred to Farafenni police, reports continued. Gambia’s security lapses galore in the hands of a president who cares less about his citizens, the very people that voted him into office.

Keeping Gambians terrorized or feeling unsafe at home fuels the political menu of both Adama Barrow and Macky. It will only legitimize the overstay of cruel Senegalese forces in The Gambia whose use remains blatantly unnecessary. They would rather see sad developments like this in Kerr Pateh without any serious steps to prevent recurrence.

These armed robbers are terrorists who keep striking the poor. But the Barrow gov’t chooses to ignore issues of great significance only to give a free ride to occupy Foni with a very hostile foreign force that has been attacking innocent Gambians.
