Mr. Alieu Badjie who was until recently Director of Physical Planning and Housing, has been reportedly appointed Director general at the newly established National Lands Commission, sources tipped forgambia Wednesday. We can’t independently confirm this appointment.

The commission is expected to oversee all land related and housing issues in the country. “It will ease the burden on all the mess and conflict related land issues in all communities at the grassroots level.” A source continued.

Mr. Badjie is expected to resume by the middle of this month and his offices would be at the Ministry of Local government and lands in Banjul. He was credited for being an upright person and highly respected among his staff at the Physical Planning. “We pray and eat together everyday at work and most of the time he’d provide food for all of us. We’re surely going to miss him for his hard work,” a co-worker told forgambia.
