If you observe a community of monkeys crossing the road, the biggest and toughest is usually the last to cross. He is the leader, leading from behind. Wollaahi there is wisdom in this! 

1. But they keep saying because Darboe sacrificed a lot for The Gambia, we owe him the presidency. What sacrifice? Please list just three that other Gambians didn’t do. Gambians such as Hatab Bojang, Omar Bun Jeng, Sheikh Banding Drammeh, Muhammad Lamin Janneh, Sanjally Bojang, Rev. JC Faye, IM Garba Jahumpa, or all of Jawara’s crew to London for our independence. What sacrifices did Ousainou Darboe do these folks didn’t do? But did these folks ask us to vote them into office for thirty years?
2. This isn’t about who sacrificed what. It’s about who can rescue the country and take us to prosperous promises. And when the term ‘electability’ comes forth, many UDP folks express loath. If your child gets sick, do you look for who sacrificed most for the child or a competent doctor and nurse? Who really sacrificed for the child—doctor and nurse or the child’s parents? Of course, the parents! But this isn’t the time for debating over sacrifices. It’s the time to look for a unifier, charismatic, knowledgeable, educated, wise, and physically capable Gambian.
3. Or do you select a good driver based on who sacrificed most for the society or who has the best and trusted driving skills? Will you fly on a plane whose pilot was selected on sacrifice instead of piloting competence, pilot school, flight hours, number of safe landings, etc?
