Please we’re still getting submissions from people that have already graduated. If you’ve already graduated, please give chance to students. This is purely for current students that haven’t graduated! One day, we may organize an open essay competition for everyone, students and non-students!

Essay Question:

Write an essay explaining your views about “Drifters” and car “Drifting” in The Gambia. Your essay should not be more than 600 words. We won’t pay much attention to opinion, so feel free to write anything.

We pay more attention to grammar, style, sentence structure and mechanical accuracy. A minimum of 300 words is acceptable. Our program allows us to place a maximum of 900 words.

Please sit in a quiet place like you’re taking a WAEC exam. Please don’t assume you can cheat or utilize other people’s assitance. The winner will be interviewed on our radio for Gambians to hear.

We brought the winners to our radio the last time we organized this. It’s very easy to prove someone’s ability when they speak. That’s why job interviews are conducted.

Finally, we want to continue holding these essay writing competitions throughout The Gambia on a regular basis. We’ve been doing our best to motivate our little brothers and sisters in The Gambia the little way we can.

How did the D3000.00 come about?

We interviewed students and calculated how much the average student spends on food (lunch money) a month. They told us roughly D2000. We thought D3,000 and wanted to hike it to D5,000. We’ll encourage feedback after this. Good luck!
