UTG Seizes Certificates of 25 Students Because Agric Ministry Owes Money!!!

Insider reports reaching forGambia say there are currently twenty-five students that graduated from the University of the Gambia but cannot obtain their degrees because the school alleges Gambia’s Ministry of Agriculture owes them tuition settlement that was supposed to cover their studies.

To put it simply, the Ministry of Agriculture received funding to educate 25 Gambians and was supposed to pay the University of The Gambia for this venture. The students attended school till graduation. They are unable to receive their certificates because the university claims Agric ministry never paid them the money that was supposed to cover the education cost of these poor students.

We will dig for the source of funds for these twenty-five students whose fate is still in limbo. We received tips that sometimes external donors like the World Bank pinpoints certain areas of study for kids to pursue in order to receive sponsorship. We don’t know where exactly the money for these twenty-five kids came from.

If the Barrow administration that is now wasting our money building NPP bureaus for dirty and unnecessary politics nation-wide is siphoning our money to similar causes instead of rightly-deserving ones, we will continue to monitor and report.

Under Sheriffo Sonko, the Brikama Area Council that was supposed to be the richest municipality in the country was allegedly diverting funds to the Barrow State House at the expense of highly needed projects to build Brikama and the West Coast region.

New Chairman Yankuba Darboe’s arrival has shed the brightest lights on this corrupt activities of the then chairman Sonko and the NPP gov’t. Darboe has, in such a short amount of time, paid debts in millions his council under Sonko owed.

But the Barrow gov’t has been busy entrenching itself in power, habitually by financial inducements to greedy and selfish NPP followers when the country is abjectly poor. Where were such lavish inducements to join NPP coming from? Of late, work on the Bertil Herding Highway is halted. Very little to no reasonable cause has been put forward while the President is busy inaugurating useless and self-perpetuating NPP bureaus all over the country.
