ForGambia News is monitoring a tip we received from State House that at least three people of Barrow’s National People’s Party NPP have been allegedly poisoned at a State House barbecue.
The three, reports say include National Youth President Momodou Sabally and two others whose names we choose not to reveal yet. Two of the victims are receiving treatments in India currently, forGambia was told.
News of Sabally’s evacuation to India for medical treatment has been making rounds for weeks now. But Sabally isn’t alone, sources say connecting the developments to the alleged food lacing.
For months, we have been receiving tips of top NPP officials’ habit of Saturday barbecues at State House in a gov’t full of the president’s attention seekers.
Also, it is common knowledge the NPP top echelon has factions competing for the same presidential favors. Others left the party when such well-coveted favor dwindled or shifted to others.
We enjoyed the power struggle and in-fighting, but never anticipated the current level of cruelty and antagonism according to tips we are receiving.
On February 20th 2022, Gambia’s ambassador to Washington, Dawda Fadera suddenly died while visiting Gambia, provoking speculations. Another U.S-connected Gambian and tech specialist, Draman Touray died on March 19th 2018 with similar public reaction.
On Saturday, March 29th 2025, late General Lamin Bojang, a defence attache at The Gambian Embassy in Bissau suddenly died—also on a short visit to Gambia. He was once leader of GAP political party.
Around 2023 and 2024, former NIA boss Ousman Sowe suddenly suffered a major illness, scaring his well-wishers. He was flown abroad and received treatment in Saudi Arabia after no improvements in Dakar.
There are more people in this list of sudden illnesses or deaths. And yes, we clearly understand that all death is certain as is any illness. What is not certain but quite suspicious is patterned death or illness!
Tips also mentioned late Badara Joof, former Vice President whose health deteriorated and sought treatment in India. In June 2020, we reported an alleged food poisoning at State House that affected at least one daughter of the president.
Some suspected cooks at the palace allegedly fled the country thereafter and settled in some undisclosed European country. These reports all point to one main thing: How cruel, angry, and vicious Gambians can now become!
Meanwhile, we are quite aware of one Abubacar Camara’s remarks about forgambia News. Camara has been appointed Deputy Ambassador to Qatar by Barrow.
They sent us reports of his appointment and we never published it. Mr. Camara, we don’t engage in “defanteh.” Like Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, you’re too small a fish to fry.
We hate what Barrow is doing to our country. But we won’t wish anyone to poison him or his officials. We pray that Sabally gets a speedy recovery wherever he is. We pray the same for other affected officials.
Another thing about Gambians is the deep-seated lust for “Palaaso” (position). They will do anything for it, and one of the reasons there is a rise in devil worship, grave digging to place amulets, and other methods of black magic.
If you are a civil servant in The Gambia or commands a high position, you better watch what you eat, drink, or even sit on. Maybe our national assembly members will start attending sessions with their own chairs brought from home.
