“It was a wrong of epic proportions to allocate such vast amount of strategic land to Laurent Gbagbo’s wife by Yahya Jammeh. It is equally a wrong of caressing stench today to cut the same protected area to Essa Faal even if he pays billions.”

And you too, Brutus? These were the words of a dying Julius Caesar, a gifted Roman leader who refused to be called king even after being the best of those who deserved it. One of his close friends called Brutus was among the coup plotters stabbing him to death. William Shakespeare wailed it thus, “Et tu Brute?" meaning “And you too, Brutus?” This was disputedly believed to be Caesar’s last words as they killed him.

Gambia has been stabbed by her own Brutus and co-conspirators if what is investigated and reported by Malagen is anything to go by. Again, we thank Malagen from the striated epithelia of our ventricles.

Indeed, what we and other media “hath lost, noble Malagen hath won!” And betrayed Gambia, of course can’t forget Mustapha Darboe’s Republic! You are all treasures Gambia continues to cherish!

But et tu Essa? Seriously? With all the big talk? You think Gambia won’t speak the same phrase of dying Caesar, O Essa? The Gambia that gave you everything?

Not even most journalists knew your name before TRRC. These poor taxpayers put you on a pedestal—an impetus you metabolized into easy springboard.

Et tu Essa? And thou, in full-throated ease remonstrated, in thy own words “political patronage, massive corruption, mismanagement of the little resources that we have,” by the Barrow gov’t?

It was a wrong of epic proportions to allocate such vast amount of strategic land to Laurent Gbagbo’s wife by Yahya Jammeh.

It is equally a wrong of caressing stench today to cut the same area to Essa Faal even if he pays billions. And billions of Dollars he didn’t pay!

But even, for the hypothetical, he did, such amount isn’t commensurate to the flora and fauna appraisal of the piece of the real estate financially, commercially, or geo-economically!

Et tu Essa? When Gambia propelled thee to a position of eminence to correct the wrongs of an earlier transgressor?

And did that transgressor, his transgression, and thy rise to the call to excavate many a buried evil under his tuition occur in antiquity? Of course not!

Et tu Essa? When the Wollof apothegm of thine inherent proficiency puts it, “Daaha ganaarr! Wahh sah sohlah!” meaning, chase the rooster away and take its spot to crow one’s own needs?

Or in another vista, has Gambia become to thee and thy co-religionists a real hub to rob Peter in order to pay Paul?

Et tu Essa? When we forfeit it to the state only to please thee while Gambia, being the smallest piece of real estate on mainland Africa should have had the most protected lands?

And to any Indian steeped in corruption in Gambia, we warned you in 2019. We know how corruption has kept India behind. Read article here: https://forgambia.com/with-gra-losing-proper-tax-revenue-indians-take-over-businesses-in-gambia/

If we never spared Yahya Jammeh, a Gambian, what makes you think we won’t, with indignant vehemence, confiscate anything acquired through corrupt means whenever a serious gov’t assumes reins in The Gambia? Can’t you see what is happening to corrupt land acquisitions in Senegal?

Those close to this writer know how he savors Indian culture. We don’t want any gov’t to kick Indians out of Gambia any time!

Currently, there is a global outrage against Indians in different countries—from Canada, Thailand, United States, Bahrain, Dubai, United Kingdom, etc.

Gambia has been very charitable to Indian immigrants. Please don’t abuse the hospitality. It won’t be any good for you! As for Kallilou Wague, we have said a lot about him in this small medium since 2019. We don’t need to say more! Time will tell!

We did warn about Hamat Bah different times. See, Hamat has the IQ of an unlettered goon! Just recently did he announce that the Abuko Nature Reserve area was being considered for de-reservation.

What that means is cutting the area into plots for either sale or some corrupt allocation again. The Kombo area barely has any land left for future cemeteries.

Hamat never knew Gambia would heat up without those green trees our ancestors preserved! Nor does he bear the intellect to fathom that oxygen and rain actually come from trees.

Due to deforestation, Gambia’s rainfall has deteriorated in the last few decades. When this editor was young in the nineties, Gambia’s rains used to start in June.

And you’re going to replace such rains with a hotel? Here is a link to what we published about Essa Faal years ago. And it is not the only one: https://forgambia.com/you-poor-people-i-can-buy-you-essa-faals-group-allegedly-tells-a-lamin-family-that-rejected-its-so-called-gift/

By only six months ago did Essa Faal trumpet corruption allegations against the Barrow gov’t. He called it “massive.”  We agreed with him.

Not because we said it first. But because it’s the truth. It’s time Gambia’s office seekers refrain from this ‘holier-than-thou’ nonsense!

Why? Because many trusted lots betrayed Gambia far too much! From Jawara who never built a single high school and Jammeh who inscribed his name on a Double-R to Adama Barrow who exhibited a D200 million in his bank account on nomination day 2021 just few years into his lease. And now Et tu Essa when thou never president yet?
